This covers all your Ethernet ports in the house.įor your eero I would consider putting it in a central location connected to an Ethernet jack so that it can provide good Wi-Fi coverage throughout your house. This way you can run an Ethernet cable from one of the 4 Ethernet ports on your AT&T router to your switch. I would start with your AT&T router and let it manage the network.
OK with that information update, I would suggest you not try to use IP/Passthrough to the eeos as that will make for a split network between any of your wired devices and your Wi-Fi network. I don't spend much time with the smartphone apps as it is mostly a set it and forget it for any of them including AT&T Smart Home Manager. Routers like eero allow you additional granular abilities manage your network usage by family members (set limits) for example.
It is a Mesh wireless network just like eero or any of the other solutions like Google or Netgear. I would suggest you start with the basic AT&T Gateway and 1 additional AT&T Smart Wi-Fi Extender ($49) if you have a large home or separate floors. It really comes down to you and what level of complexity do you want vs benefits of any of the different solutions. However is it possible and will work once you get it properly setup. I am not sure that the average AT&T customer will benefit for the complexity of setting up a secondary router (eero). the AT&T Smarthome?
