Soulseer Mizutsune will occasionally rear back, then attack with a spiral, drill-like rush. In addition, if a hunter is struck by Soulseer Mizutsune's claws or tail while the dark red bubbles are applied, then the hunter will get an attack boost for a short duration.
This coating will make the applied part more vulnerable to damage and easier for blademaster weapons to cut, but will also increase their damage output. Throughout the hunt, Soulseer Mizutsune will coat its front claws or tail with dark red bubbles, similar to the red, attack-boosting bubbles that common Mizutsune are known to release. Soulseer Mizutsune will often attempt to chain its exploding bubbles into other attacks. Instead of releasing bubbles of different size or color, Soulseer Mizutsune will launch blue bubbles that explode on contact. It will attack more quickly and aggressively. If a hunter comes in contact with its bubbles, Soulseer Mizutsune will immediately become enraged. It may attack more unpredictably as well, given that it cannot see its targets. Until a hunter comes in contact with these bubbles, Soulseer Mizutsune will move and attack much slower than a normal Mizutsune. While not enraged, it will move about an area, releasing bubbles that will expand outwards in a spiral pattern before disappearing. While rendered effectively blind, its left eye will open and glow with a blue flame when the monster is enraged.Īlthough blind, Soulseer Mizutsune is able to perceive its environment through its bubbles. Most noticeable are the scars running across Soulseer Mizutsune's face, presumably sustained in battle with another monster or hunter.
While in combat, it will coat its front claws and tail in a substance that colors them with a deeper reddish hue. The fur across its body and tail is paler. Soulseer Mizutsune is similar in appearance to the more common Mizutsune, although often noticeably larger in size.
